چکیده

Abstract Background and Aims Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a major health problem associated with faltering growth, which complex process, where anorexia, inadequate oral intake in addition to disturbed body metabolism play significant role. Leptin, the anorexigenic hormone that's secreted by fat tissue, affect appetite, & hence, aids weigh loss growth. The present study evaluated serum leptin level, its relation growth parameters pediatric patients different stages of CKD. Method A cross-sectional that was conducted on 87 subjects, who were divided equally into groups; CKD stage 5 regular hemodialysis (CKD5d), 2–4, age gender matched controls. Patient diabetes, infected hepatitis C virus, therapies excluded. Full history taking, assessment using specific Z-scores heights, weight mass index done. Fasting leptin, calcium, phosphorus, PTH, albumin, total proteins, iron hemoglobin measured. Results Our had significantly lower compared Hypocalcemia, high deficiency anemia hypoalbuminemia CKD2-4 groups other groups. Serum abnormally 12.6% patients. median level comparable between (p = 0.20). hadn’t changed as regards gender, BMI Z-scores, diagnoses, or 1.00, 0.379, 0.542, 0.171 respectively). negative correlation found duration (r -0.276, P 0.036), otherwise, no correlations clinical laboratory variables. Conclusion Leptin not affected useful marker for Large studies relationship needed.

Neuromedin s is a novel anorexigenic hormone.

A novel 36-amino acid neuropeptide, neuromedin S (NMS), has recently been identified in rat brain and has been shown to be an endogenous ligand for two orphan G protein-coupled receptors, FM-3/GPR66 and FM-4/TGR-1. These receptors have been identified as neuromedin U (NMU) receptor type 1 and type 2, respectively. In this study, the physiological role of the novel peptide, NMS, on feeding regul...

SLAC - PUB - 3927 April

The technique of using the “particle-in-cell” method was developed in the field of plasma physics [l]. B orrowed for problems of intense beams, it becomes an especially powerful tool because such problems frequently use single species “plasmas” and so pose a less severe requirement on the computer. We will look at several problems in which the PIC code method has been useful. The first is the c...

Racial differences in parathyroid hormone levels in CKD.

Patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) are at increased risk for progressing to end-stage renal disease and developing cardiovascular disease [1]. Epidemiologic studies have demonstrated that abnormalities in mineral metabolism are independently associated with higher rates of these adverse outcomes [2, 3]. Moreover, the presence of mineral dysmetabolism is often used clinically as an indic...

Angiotensin II type 1 receptor signaling regulates feeding behavior through anorexigenic corticotropin-releasing hormone in hypothalamus.

The activation of renin-angiotensin system contributes to the development of metabolic syndrome and diabetes as well as hypertension. However, it remains undetermined how renin-angiotensin system is implicated in feeding behavior. Here, we show that angiotensin II type 1 (AT(1)) receptor signaling regulates the hypothalamic neurocircuit that is involved in the control of food intake. Compared w...
